Quin's room

These pictures are from a few weeks ago. I have changed her room a little bit since then, including adding more baskets for her clothes and other kid essentials.

I still have to get a car seat (plan on getting that in a few weeks) and a few more basics, but otherwise I am feeling as ready as I can be.

Name Change

I am still waiting on my final Letter of Confirmation from China. Apparently they (China) had misplaced my file and confessed to my agency that was why it was taking so long. They said I would have my letter by the beginning of last week...no luck yet.

As soon as I get that letter I will apply for my travel visa and then I only have to wait for the Travel Authorization from China. It will be about six weeks from the letter to travel. Hopefully that still means I will be going in mid April.

I read a lot of adoption blogs and so many Chinese girls are named Lilly. I don't really want my daughter to be a stereotype of an adopted Chinese girl. I love the name Lilly, but somehow a new name just came into my head one day, based off of her surname, Qin (she was named by the Social Welfare Institute). So I think I am naming my daughter Quin. I really like that name, it is different, like Naomi, and yet it is close to her exsisting name. I will be keeping her given Chinese name as her middle name.

I hope to have more updates soon. I am on pins and needles every day waiting for that call that my letter has arrived
